Crimes: Sexual Assault, Bestiality

Robert S. Melia Jr., a former police officer from Mount Holy, New Jersey, USA, is a sexual pervert who doesn’t limit his “affections” to human beings. Apparently he has been known to indulge in sexual antics with members of the bovine species. That’s right, he’s a cow molester.

Robert Melia found himself on trial in September 2009 after engaging in oral sex acts with 5 calves in Southampton. He’d actually recorded these sick and twisted encounters so you’d think it would have been a slam dunk for the prosecution. Unfortunately, and incomprehensibly, bestiality wasn’t a crime in New Jersey back then. The best the perv could be charged with then was animal cruelty.

So is it animal cruelty to make a calf suck on a dick? That was actually the question the court had to decide on.

Burlington County assistant prosecutor Kevin Morgan asserted it was cruel. “I think any reasonable juror could infer that a man’s penis in the mouth of a calf is torment.”

Judge James J. Morley disagreed. He noted that because the calves couldn’t talk they couldn’t say if they liked giving pervs blowjobs or not. And since they couldn’t say, there was no way to prove they were tormented. Charges were dropped and the case was dismissed.

To be fair to Judge Morley, he based his decision purely on the law, not on morality.

I am happy to report that New Jersey is on the cusp of making bestiality illegal. Finally. What took them so long?

But molesting calves, as depraved and as unnatural as that is, is not what makes Robert Melia an evil hellbeast. The fact that he molests kids too makes him one. And he’s not alone. His ex-girlfriend, Heather Lewis, also qualifies as a molesting hellbeast.

Robert Melia, a patrolman, and Heather Lewis, a nursing assistant, set up house together on Cottage Avenue in Moorestown. They were into kinky stuff like bondage, and owned tens of thousands of porn videos. To each their own, right? If they wanted to play sex games with each other, who cares? The trouble was they didn’t stick to sex games with each other. Nope, these pigs just had to involve underage kids.

Between 2000 and 2007, Robert Melia and Heather Lewis repeatedly forced underage girls and a boy to engage in sex acts with them. Some, if not all, of the victims were members of Heather Lewis’ extended family who were staying with them to escape difficult home lives.

I can’t wrap my head around how heartless that is. Those kids had trouble at home, and thought they were finding refuge with Heather Lewis and Robert Melia, but instead they were sexually assaulted. Those poor kids!

The evil, f*cktardian pedos videotaped some of the assaults, making for great evidence for investigators.

In 2008, one of the victims was taken to the police by her stepfather. She revealed to them what had been done to her and the county prosecutor’s office immediately launched an investigation. Within a day the girl was interviewed by the Child Advocacy Center in Mount Holly.

With a bit more digging, investigators found out about more victims. They got a warrant to search the pervs’ house to search for photos and videos. Apparently they got there just in time — Robert Melia’s computer was deleting incriminating files.

The investigators managed to retrieve videos on the computer of kids and calves being “subjected to sexual activity”.

There were several disturbing videos, including a violent sex attack on a drugged or incapacitated girl who was bound and blindfolded. None of the videos showed Robert Melia’s face. There was a 35-minute video filmed by Robert Melia of Heather Lewis using sex devices on a girl, urging her to respond.

In April 2008, Robert Melia and Heather Lewis were arrested. He was charged with 3 counts of 1st-degree aggravated sexual assault and 1 count of 2nd-degree criminal sexual contact. She was charged with 3 counts of 1st-degree aggravated sexual assault and 1 count of 3rd-degree criminal sexual contact. They both entered not guilty pleas and got out on bail.

Robert Melia was suspended, without pay, from the Moorestown Police Department after his arrest.

Over the course of the investigation additional charges were laid against the disgusting sex fiends. The total rose to more than 50 counts.

In April 2012 the depraved pair went to trial in Burlington County Superior Court, still pleading not guilty. The defense argument was that the victims had lied, that all of the sexual activity was consensual.

The defense actually went so far as to accuse the stepfather of one of the victims of orchestrating the “witch hunt” against their clients. They alleged that he’d impregnated the girl and then got her to lie to police in order to confuse the paternity issue. This stepfather, according to the defense, contacted two other girls and got them to lie to the investigators too.

The defense argument ultimately did not fly. After more than 2 days of deliberations, the jury found Robert S. Melia Jr., 42, guilty of 6 counts of sexual assault, 6 counts of aggravated sexual assault, 2 counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact, 4 counts of criminal sexual contact, 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, invasion of privacy and official misconduct.

Official misconduct? Well, considering Robert Melia was a police officer at the time of the offences, and that he didn’t arrest Heather Lewis when she committed her crimes, that constituted official misconduct.

Heather Lewis, 36, was found guilty of 7 counts of sexual assault, 6 counts of aggravated sexual assault, 2 counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact, 5 counts of criminal sexual contact, 4 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and invasion of privacy.

Invasion of privacy? That count was related to the filming of a victim.

Bail was immediately revoked and Robert Melia and Heather Lewis were handcuffed and led away. Heather Lewis tearfully begged the judge for a delay because she hadn’t made custody arrangements for her 2-year-old child. Judge Charles Delehey turned down her request, basically telling her that the guilty verdict had been obvious to everyone, and shouldn’t have come as a surprise to her.

Robert Melia was summarily fired from the Moorestown police force.

Sentencing took place in October 2012. The prosecution was seeking 50 years plus for each of them.

“Throughout this case, it’s always been about [the defendants] and their own sexual gratification,” Assistant Burlington County Prosecutor Kevin Morgan told the court. “They couldn’t care less about the victims that they abused.”

The defense painted Heather Lewis as a mother and law-abiding citizen. They claimed she was the victim of sexual abuse herself. That argument didn’t wash with Judge Charles Delehey.

“Being a victim is not a license to be perpetrator,” the judge said. “These were not acts of revenge or retribution taken by her against her attackers. These were assaults on innocent victims.”

In his sentencing, Judge Delehey said, “The defendants displayed an obsessive, unhealthy, reckless, and indifferent attitude toward their victims. They sought sexual pleasure for themselves without any sense of responsibility or accountability to the harm inflicted on their victims.”

The judge then sentenced Robert Melia to 30 years in prison, and Heather Lewis to 25 years in prison. They must serve 85% of their sentences before they are eligible for parole.

But the story doesn’t end there. Robert Melia’s defense team appealed the conviction. They argued that naked photos of their client shouldn’t have been allowed into evidence. They argued that his computer should not have been confiscated in the first place.

In August 2015 the appellate judges rejected the defense arguments. The naked photos showed the use of ropes and restraints — the same as used on the victims. They also showed his clean-shaven pubic area and that correlated with the victims’ testimony.

As for the seizure of the computer, the judges ruled that the warrant authorized the investigators to search for photos and videos, and a computer should be treated no differently than a filing cabinet or briefcase.

Well, I for one am happy that Robert S. Melia Jr. and Heather Lewis shall be parked behind bars for a long, long time. IMO that’s the only way to stop them from sexually abusing anyone else.

I hope the victims are getting all the support they need to live happy, safe and healthy lives. Kudos to them for speaking out about the abuse and the abusers. It must’ve been horribly difficult for them to expose those sexual assaults to the light of day. Those kids deserve thanks for bringing Robert Melia and Heather Lewis to justice.

I wish all the best to Heather Lewis’ children. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to have a parent in prison, especially for such horrible crimes. I truly hope they are in a affectionate and nurturing environment, getting all the love they need to live happily.

Oh my, what a nut job. I mean at any point had anything startled one of those calves they could have taken his pecker clean off, how unfortunate for his human victims that never happened. Obviously the guy is not all that intelligent. And tens of thousands of porn videos what the…? I mean there’s porn addiction and then there’s spending enough money on porn to either buy some very nice car or real shack of a house, seriously who in their right mind does that?

Obviously these people were lacking the emotional maturity of say even your average eight grader. While they do both look icky, gross and smarmy and not at all like any sort of couple who’d enjoy raging non-monogamous success as swingers still just to look at them on the streets neither would impress me as being such sexual deviant perverts of the worst sort, lowest order but boy are they ever! It’s just terrible what they did to those children.

Is something wrong with me that I’m more disgusted by his molesting baby cows than raping the kids? Not that what he did to the kids wasn’t horrible — it was beyond horrible.

Awesomeblossom, i felt the same way love, there’s nothing wrong with you, its not everyday we hear of police officers sticking their dicks in cows mouths.
