Brian & Shannon Gore

Brian and Shannon Gore
Crimes: Child Abuse, Child Neglect

There are times I could write articles about rainbows and unicorns and happy, shiny people. Alas, this site is about hellbeasts, and there are far too many out there to expose. Today’s hellbeasts are Brian and Shannon Gore, a lovely couple of beasts to be sure. A lot has already been written about them, but they well and truly qualify for this site.

Brian and Shannon Gore of Hayes, Virginia, are most likely baby killers. They are most definitely child abusers. They are definitely where they belong — in prison, and hopefully for a very long time.

The Gores married officially in 2008. They did not, however, wait until they were married to have children.

The monstrous pair originally hooked up in 2003. Brian Gore, then 21, was living in a car. Shannon’s parents (her mother anyway) took pity on him and generously invited him to move into their home. Little did they know what they were opening their door to.

Shannon was all of 16 back in 2003. That didn’t stop Brian Gore from involving her in a secret relationship. It was so secret, in fact, Shannon’s mother had no inkling what was going on. Even when Shannon and Brian moved out 8 months later into a nearby mobile home she thought they were just roommates, buddies, friends.

Brian Gore’s father had generously given his son the mobile home. Nice! No rent, no mortgage. All Brian Gore had to pay was hook-up fees. That’s a big step up from living in a car.

I wonder with all the generosity shown by Shannon’s parents and Brian’s father why things turned out so horrifically, so tragically. It should not have been so, and probably would not have been so if Shannon and Brian Gore hadn’t been hellbeasts to begin with.

In 2004 the not-so-platonic relationship resulted in a pregnancy. On November 4 a baby girl was born. And was this a cause for celebration? Apparently not. Shannon and Brian had kept the entire pregnancy a secret, and then unbelievably they kept the birth of their daughter a secret.

Now how the hell did they do this? Shannon, then 17, gave birth at home, and neither she nor Brian Gore registered the birth. The secret baby girl had no birth certificate. Apparently she was never taken outside. Nobody, not neighbours, not friends, not relatives, not the state knew about the existence of this little girl.

That’s how Shannon and Brian Gore did it. Why they did it is a matter of pure conjecture. Shannon’s mother later voiced the belief that her daughter was trying to protect Brian from a possible statutory rape charge.

Three years later, on August 3, 2007, Brian and Shannon did it again. This time they had a secret son. But not for long. Within months the tiny baby boy was dead — possibly murdered. Whether he suffered from a health-related crisis or injuries, he was not taken for medical treatment. Neither Brian nor Shannon called 911 or took him to the hospital to save his life.

Shannon and Brian Gore decided to deal with their son’s death as they dealt with his birth and his entire life — secretly. They placed the tiny body in a wooden box and buried it in their back yard, under a shed.

If the baby boy was now in heaven, the little girl was descending into hell, courtesy of her monstrous parents. They had decided, being self-styled medical experts and all, that she was defective — they diagnosed her with Down Syndrome and cerebral palsy.

What do you do with a defective child? Hmmmmm. Luckily for Shannon and Brian Gore, keeping her existence a secret allowed them unfettered freedom to treat her any way they chose. Tragically they chose to treat the tiny helpless girl with unfettered cruelty and sadism.

The crib was turned into a cage, a prison cell from which the little girl could not escape. She lived in that crib for at least 3 years. When her parents went to work, there she was. When they came home, there she was, trapped alone, hungry, neglected and almost forgotten.

When Shannon and Brian Gore did remember their daughter they fed her, but that wasn’t often. Not often enough by any means.

On January 24, 2009, Shannon and Brian Gore finally got married and decided to begin an official family. They got a family dog, and began to prepare for their official child.

The Gores told everybody about the blessed event.

“She took the pregnancy test here at my home…it was positive…we were screaming, and jumping up and down for joy. We were ecstatic because we were having grandchildren,” said Shannon’s mother.

It was Shannon’s mother who decorated the baby’s room in anticipation of the birth. Her granddaughter was hidden in the next room, confined in her makeshift prison.

“That door was closed and I never heard anything,” said Shannon’s mother. “I never heard a cry…they had a dog in the house and there was a smell, but I thought it was the dog.”

The Gores’ new son was born on March 23, 2011. In hospital! All registered and documented. He was given the same name as the first son whose body was decomposing in the back yard.

In April, 2011, tornadoes tore through the area, followed by thieves ransacking homes. On April 17, 2011 one house on Popular Pond Drive was broken into and gold bullion, $2000 cash, a vacuum cleaner and a passport were taken.

Police traced the gold bullion to a pawn shop and found it had been sold by one Shannon Gore. Master criminal she ain’t.

Gore houseOn April 28, 2011, police arrived at the Gore home in Waterview Mobile Home Park in Hayes to serve a search warrant. They discovered hell.

Gloucester Sheriff’s Maj. Darrell Warren said, “I’ve done this for 20 years, and I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.”

Lt. Scott Little of the Sheriff’s Department said, “It was horrific. I don’t know what else to say.”

They had, of course, discovered the little girl. She was naked in her cage which was her crib turned upside down and held down by boxes stacked on top. It was such cramped quarters that the girl couldn’t extend her legs. She just hunkered with her knees pressed against her chest.

The girl was covered in feces which is not surprising considering the cage had feces 1 to 2 inches deep in some spots.

The poor little girl had bedsores and she was so starved her bones were protruding. Her hair was matted and falling out in clumps. Her skin was peeling off. She was so hungry she’d been eating the peeled skin from her head.

That’s not to say there wasn’t food in the cage. There were sippy cups with the dregs of soured milk and empty, moldy frozen food dinner trays. So nutritional.

Brian Gore told the police that they did feed their daughter — a Pop Tart in the morning and a Pop Tart at night. And sometimes she even got a sandwich. Bonus!

And in case of boredom, the little girl had toys in her cage, albeit filthy and covered with crap. But what would you expect of someone you think had Down Syndrome and cerebral palsy? Not much if you are Brian or Shannon Gore. No, kids like that have to be confined in cages to keep them calm, so they told the police.

The police, seeing this 16 pound emaciated little girl, at first thought she was a toddler. I’m sure they were dumbfounded to find out she was 6 years old.

Brian Gore told the police that their daughter had only been confined in her crib for 10 months, around the start of summer 2010. Shannon Gore told them the girl had to be penned up at age 1 when her developmental issues, you know the supposed Down Syndrome and cerebral palsy, showed up.

Bear in mind that NOT ONCE did those 2 hellbeasts take that little girl to a doctor. Her developmental disability existed first in Shannon Gore’s imagination and was later made a reality by the years of neglect and confinement and starvation.

The poor little girl couldn’t even talk, that’s how neglected she was.

The critically ill child was immediately taken to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. Medical staff determined that she’d been within a week — a week! — of dying of starvation. Doctors also estimated that she’d been starved for more than 3 years, based on measurements of the child’s head.

I can’t imagine how it was for the police who thought they were tracking down stolen goods and found a near-dead victim of abuse.

On April 28, 2011, because she hadn’t heard from her daughter, Shannon Gore’s mother sent her husband to the mobile home to investigate. A neighbour broke the news to him that the police had just arrested the couple and taken the 1-month old baby away into care.

Shannon’s mother got a call later that day from a detective who asked her how many children Shannon has.

“I said, one … I was blown away by the question…she has the one son, and he said, ‘no … she has a daughter.’ I said, no, absolutely not. No way. She could not have a daughter. I have seen her nearly every day of her life, and there’s no way she could have concealed a pregnancy.”

So says the woman who thought her daughter and Brian Gore were just platonic roommates before they married. So says the woman who decorated the bedroom right next to the room with her hidden, trapped, starving granddaughter.

Shannon Gore’s mother was an extremely trusting person. It’s tragic that her daughter and son-in-law were such a convincing deceivers and evil hellbeasts.

Gore YardOn April 29, 2011, Brian Gore revealed to detectives that their first son was buried under the shed in the back yard.

The vile hellbeast told investigators that the baby boy had been having trouble breathing and heaven forbid he should call 911 because of the whole undocumented-daughter-in-a-cage thing. Brian Gore said that the baby was only 2 weeks old when he died while Shannon Gore claimed he was 7 months old.

Investigators found family photos that would indicate the baby’s age was closer to Shannon Gore’s estimation.

Unfortunately for the cause of justice, the dead infant’s remains were so decomposed that the coroner was unable to determine the cause of death. The Gores were not charged with murder.

What the hellbeastly pair were charged with were felony child neglect and aggravated malicious wounding. They were not charged with attempted murder which surprises me because starving their daughter was certainly a long-term concerted effort to make her die.

I don’t know what happened with the stolen gold bullion case — I gather that in the face of the more horrific crimes it just sort of fell by the wayside.

Still, it’s a true blessing that Shannon Gore turned to thievery — otherwise she and Brian Gore would have 2 undiscovered corpses buried in their back yard.

Brian GoreAnyway, to continue with the course of justice, on March 5, 2013, the very day jury selection was to begin in the joint trials of Brian Gore, 31 and Shannon Gore, 26, the monstrous, murderous pair pled guilty in Gloucester County Circuit Court to the charges of felony child abuse. They also entered an Alford plea on the charges of aggravated malicious wounding.

An Alford plea is not an admission of guilt, but a concession that there is enough evidence for a conviction.

Sentencing will take place on June 10, 2013. I will keep readers posted. The aggravated malicious wounding convictions carry a prison sentence of a minimum of 20 years to life.

Good news — both the girl victim and her brother have been adopted, albeit by separate families. The girl’s new family is caring, supportive and puts her needs first. The girl, according to her attorney Brian Decker, is “trying to be a normal child” and is “progressing as well as you can expect, given the trauma that she has been through”.

I wish nothing but the best in life for the surviving children of the Gores. And I wish nothing but the worst in life for the monstrous mother Shannon and hellbeastly father Brian Gore.

RIP Baby Gore.

Brian and Shannon Gore are now facing felony homicide and child abuse charges in the 2008 death of their baby boy. Murder charges against the evil pair had been dropped years ago due to lack of evidence, but new homicide charges surfaced in May 2014. The boy’s remains had been sent to the Smithsonian in an effort to determine how he died. I guess they found he’d been murdered, poor little guy.

In May 2015, the evil pair were found guilty of felony neglect in connection to the death of their infant son. On July 22, 2015, Gloucester Circuit Judge William Hamblen sentenced Brian Gore to 10 years in prison with all but 57 months suspended, and Shannon Gore to 10 years with all but 36 months suspended. This time is to be served after their 30 year sentence is over.

When oh when will bengalpuss finish her “basement suite”? These guys would be good tenants for her. They could in fact teach her about how to confine someone helpless. And they wouldn’t use up her grocery budget either, since they don’t think prisoners need feeding. Assholes should be buried under the prison.

  2. bengalpuss says:

Bulldoggy, believe me if i did have Guantanamo Basement open, there two evil cunts, would be trapped underneath a cage, with piss and shit waste deep, and not just their own shite. I would give them a pop tart, smeared in shit, and a bottle of milk thats about 6 months old. That poor little girl and baby boy. How fucking wicked to just bury your own son, whom you’ve basically murdered by not getting him to a hospital, when he was having problems breathing, under a shed in the back garden. My heart aches at the thought of what that little girl went through, isolated, no love, neglected and alone. When that girl was found and taken to hospital, that must have been like heaven for her. God i am so fucking mad after reading this post, i Hope those two twisted, evil mother fucker’s will be going to jail for a long time.

    • Lillith says:

Hey, Bengalpuss. Sorry I’ve been gone for so long, as I’ve been without internet until now. I have a question, friend, may I come work for you? I would dearly LOVE to make scum like these suffer & starve slowly in a dog cage. (If that’s how people with down syndrome and the like are supposed to be treated, these these two definently need to be there. There is DEFINENTLY something wrong with the minds of these f*cking cockbites!) I will work for free, but only if I may add a few of my own personal hellbeasts to the collection of scum.
WTF were these SOBs thinking? Did they really believe that they could hide away children? It didn’t work in “Flowers in the Attic”, so did they really think they could do better? OMG! Trash like this just pisses me off to no end! And WTF were they thinking naming the new son after the deceased one? That is just waaaay beyond hellacreepy to me! These sub-humanoid things don’t deserve to waste my air or taxpayers dollars.
RIP Baby Boy Gore, taken to soon by monsters who have lived too long.

      • Bengalpuss says:

Of course you can work in my dungeon with me Lilith, join bulldoggy, and 2cute as well. I remember reading flowers in the attic, and petals of a rose, the follow up book, very sad indeed. By the way Lilith, these scumbag’s got 30yrs each, not enough in my opinion.

  3. bengalpuss says:

Oh and as for granny, was she fucking blind and deaf? How the fuck could you be decorating the bedroom next door and not know anything. If anything surely wouldn’t she have checked every room to see how her daughter was living. My mother god rest her soul, the first time she visited my flat when i left home, my god she looked everywhere, the kitchen cupboards under the sink etc etc, so i don.t understand how no one knew about this poor little girl, and the baby boy, were they all walking round with blinkers on. Im so glad that shannon gore, was a stupid criminal, thank the lord for that, otherwise that little girl would have been dead within days, urghh horrible cunts, hope they get their arse’s whooped, its the least they deserve.

  4. pj says:

Is it awful of me to wish they could get the death penalty? Even if they get 20 years they’d be young enough to enjoy life when they got out. They don’t deserve to enjoy a single thing, not after they nearly killed their little girl and probably killed their baby boy.

  5. MsM says:

Man, talk about a couple of inbreds…

  6. moodymagic says:

These 2 fucktards make me very sick and angry. This poor little girl will likely never know a normal day in her life. And these bastards will get a roof over their heads and 3 meals a day even if it is the rest of their disgusting lives. Thank God they were morons a decided to steal. And why weren’t they charged with attempted murder. The thing that makes me really happy is that both kids have been adopted into kind loving families. Burn in hell baby killers and abusers.

    • MsM says:

You’re right about that Moody. Sadly, this little girl will probably never be able to talk due to the sensory deprivation she endured. It will be a miracle if she can function normally at all. This article talks about a little girl held in the same type of environment – she never learned to speak beyond a few words and her IQ was far below the norm due to her brain being starved for so long. Genie grew up to live in an assisted living facility and was happy with her life because it was all she knew – she had no understanding of the hellbeasts who abused her or the world she lived in. This little victim here has a long road ahead of her. I pray that the therapists who work with her will help her talk and communicate so she can have a normal life.

  7. bengalpuss says:

Luckily the girl is still very young, the brain of someone so young will still have the capacity for learning, albeit very late, she should have been learning from day one, but she can still learn enough to be ok. Sadly she will never be as someone her own age. These two evil beasts that have neglected, deprived and nearly killed this child, will no doubt get out of prison one day, sadly because of their actions, the little girl will probably be in her own prison for the rest of her life. This is what the judge needs to look at when sentencing these two monsters. And they can.t come up with the bullshit of “They were young, had a low I.Q” Because they knew how to plan for a baby and provide for the new child, that they wanted didn’t they.

  8. Tulipchic says:

That poor baby girl. How could two people just watch a child wither away? I feel guilty if my kids say they are bored and even though I don’t really feel like it, take them to the park!. I can’t just see kids be unhappy. By the sounds of it they were ashamed of having children out of wedlock? But hell, if you find it that shameful, adopt them out. I can’t understand the thinking of people like that. No sence of empathy or decency whatsoever, yet can fool people into thinking they are a normal young couple. Even their own parents? crazy.

  9. bengalpuss says:

Jesus, i feel bad if my cats food bowl is empty for 20mins, so what does that make these two evil shitheads. Definately deserve to burn in hell in my opinion.

  10. Katy A says:

I’m suffering from terrible morning sickness anyway but reading this made me throw up. Beyond evil monsters.

  11. spookie says:

There is no excuse for even having kids if you dont want or intend to care for their every need.Contraception is out there and abortion if they dont want a kid. no need to behave like that. even animals look after their babies better than that pair of shites.

    • Lillith says:

A better solution is sterilization. Women’s services will even pay for it if you can’t afford it. The pieces of trash featured above should definently be sterilized, as to not bring any further suffering to the world. That, or lethal injection would do the trick nicely.

  12. bengalpuss says:

Spookie, they are selfish cunts plain and simple. They don.t have the brain capacity to think sensible, they thought that if they had a child out of wedlock, then everyone would be pointing their fingers at them and saying “shame on you” So they kill the baby. Now this is where the brain dead part comes in, people are gonna be horrified and appalled of their actions if found out, so any normal person would rather be seen as a mother having a child out of wedlock, than being a child murdering selfish cunt, but not dumb and dumber here. What makes it even worse is the fact that no one knew that these children existed, do they walk around with fucking blinkers on in that family. A blind and deaf person would have noticed that, but not the family from deliverence. I hope their lives are miserable from now on, evil fucking hillbillies they are.

  13. MindBlown says:

Just read this today, and I’m sick to my stomach. I looked up their sentencing, and they each received 30 years. Here’s the article:

    June 10, 2013
GLOUCESTER — The parents of a girl kept in a makeshift cage for as much as several years were each sentenced to 30 years in prison on Monday in Gloucester County Circuit Court.

Brian Gore and Shannon Gore will receive credit for time served — a little more than two years — after Judge R. Bruce Long sentenced them to 10 years in prison on child abuse convictions and 20 years in prison on aggravated malicious wounding convictions.

    Hope they never get paroled.

    • cleo says:

Thank you MindBlown for the update. I had forgotten to do it myself so I appreciate your contribution.

      • MindBlown says:

No problem Cleo. I’m new to your site, and it’s got it’s hooks in me. I don’t think I’ll ever wrap my head around the depravity that these monsters think is acceptable in today’s society. A couple of these stories took my breath away, I cried, and I had to walk away from my laptop. The kids and babies….sent with love, destroyed by animals. And the adults, living caring and giving lives also.
Cleo, after the first day of reading these stories, I admit that night I had the most awful nightmare. And my heart continues to cry thinking about all that pain.
Keep on writing and putting these animals out there, so they can’t stay in the shadows, continuing their evil deeds.

        • cleo says:

Welcome to the site, MindBlown! I must admit that researching some of these stories gave me nightmares too.

  14. cleo says:

Good news! Brian and Shannon Gore are now facing murder charges in the death of their infant son.

    • BENGALPUSS says:

About fucking time too, baby killing cunts. The death penalty would be good also, but i’d probably be asking too much.

  15. Jen says:

Down Syndrome does not just “appear” at one year of age; nor does cerebral palsy. This woman is so stupid, it hurts ME!
